Graph to prove poverty kills

Following on from a previous post about council cuts versus the Index of Multiple Deprivation I had a go at plotting life expectancy against deprivation.

The picture it gave was not pretty. Clearly poverty kills.

Below are graphs for the East and West Midlands (I live in the former and work in the latter).

In each graph the red dots show respective Midlands councils.

Not all data points are labelled due to space restrictions and I’ve labelled a few non Midlands councils for comparison.
